JERSEY CITY EPISCOPAL CDC RECEIVES NEIGHBORHOOD IMPACT AWARD FROM THE LOCAL INITIATIVES SUPPORT CORPORATION

November 18- Jersey City, NJ –  Jersey City Episcopal Community Development Coporation (JCECDC) was the receipient of the  Neighborhood Impact Award at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation’s 7th Neighborhood Achievement Awards.  The Neighborhood Achievement Awards recognize individuals and organizations within the community development arena that are committed to revitalizing underserved neighborhoods throughout the State. Honorees are celebrated for creating industry-leading innnovative program which make urban neighborhoods safe and attractive places to live and do business. This year’s Awards Program was sponsored by PNC Bank and hosted in conjuction with New Jersey Community Capital.

“ We are honored to have received this award which recognized our hard work in helping revitalize neighborhoods and providing critically needed affordable housing to moderate and middle income families. We look forward to continuing this work with the key partnership with Local Intiatives Support Corporation” said Carol Mori, Executive Director for JCECDC.

JCECDC received the Neighborhood Impact award for their significant long term impact on the revitalization of its community. To date, JCECDC has deveveloped over 172 units of housing in Jersey City providing affordable, safe and quality housing to over 500 Jersey City residents annually while developing blighted and derelict properties for constructive neighborhood use. JCECDC also provides first time home buyer education free of charge and will be launching a foreclosure prevention program in the coming months.
