  • August 2009- JCECDC receives a $10,000 grant from Capitol One to help support the operations of the Real Estate Division
 
  • August 2009- The Corporation for Supportive Housing and the Jersey City Division of Community Development nominate the All Saints Project for the Governor’s Excellence Award for Supportive Housing.
 
  • July 2009- JCECDC receives a $20,000 grant from Bank of America to support the operations of the Real Estate Division.
 
  • July 2009-JCECDC Project Manager secures National certification as a Rehab Specialist. Ricardo Rosario now has formal training in using high efficiency, automated software systems to analize rehab feasibility, write rehab specs and create rehab contracts.
 
  • July 2009-JCECDC and partners apply for over $20M to developer 200+ units under Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 funds. This collaboration includes the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency, CitiWorks, Landmark Development and the Urban League of Hudson County. JCECDC’s goal under this program is to acquire and rehab 15 two family homes for rentals to low, moderate and middle income populations in the Greenville area.
 
  • June 2009- JCECDC secures $922,000 from the City’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program to acquire 10-15 foreclosed two family homes for rehab and resale to moderate and middle income households. For more information about this project, click here.
 
  • June 2009- JCECDC applies for funding under the City’s CSBG Program to implement a Foreclosure Prevention Program.
 
  • May 2009- JCECDC breaks ground on mixed use development at 167-169 Monticello Ave. For more information about the groundbreaking click here.
 
 
  • June 2009- JCECDC receives $5,000 grant from Capitol One to cover expenses related to participation in the Housing and Community Development Network’s Scattered Site Rehabilitation Program.
 
 
  • May 2009- JCECDC receives $3,500 grant from Home Depot to cover expenses related to LEED certification at 167-169 Monticello
 
  • April 2009- Division of Real Estate expands by hiring an additional Project Manager, Ricardo Rosario, to assist with implementation of growing pipeline. Click here to learn more.
 
  • April 2009- JCECDC received a $930,000 commitment from Jersey City HOME Program to build another 5 brand new two family homes on Van Nostrand Ave and Oak Street
 
  • April 2009- JCECDC receives a recommendation for funding for $143,000 from the City’s HOME Program to acquire Houses of Hope and create 6 units of supportive housing
 
 


What We Do

1. Home ownership opportunities for moderate and middle income first time home buyers. This includes the new construction of two family homes and condominiums and the acquisition, rehab of two family homes for resale.


2. Permanent supportive rental housing of people and families with special needs. This includes multifamily building and congregate living facilities.


3. Multifamily rental housing opportunities for low and moderate income households, including seniors.

4.  Mixed use development to help revitalize Jersey City’s retail corridors.
