Our Programs

Hudson CASA
The Hudson CASA Program was developed to address the problem of homelessness in our community. Hudson CASA provides specialized case management services enhanced by individualized home finding, employment counseling and job placement and substance counseling. In our Hudson CASA Program, we walk individuals through a process of building independence using a housing first philosophy. We educate our clients on how to navigate the welfare system of benefits, we assist in locating and maintaining affordable, secure housing, and partner with our clients in developing the skills and the confidence to obtain and sustain gainful employment. All of these services combined, help our clients to lead a dignified and productive life.

Special Initiative-Hudson CASA for Families
Through a special grant from the state, JCECDC was able to expand our Hudson CASA program to serve families who receive TANF benefits and Temporary Rental Assistance (TRA) from Hudson County Welfare. In this program, we work closely with our clients to assist them in obtaining employment and affordable housing before their temporary subsidy runs out, and they are facing homelessness again. As with many of our other programs, we work closely with the welfare system, link our clients to Mainstream Resources and assist them in navigating the complex benefits systems.

Corpus Christi Ministries Housing
CCMH operates residences for single men and women as well as families with special needs. CCMH is for individuals who will benefit from living in a supportive, community environment; those who have difficulty living on their own. We have no limitations on the length of time individuals or families in need may stay. CCMH encourages residents to live as independently as possible. For our single residents, each of our homes offers private rooms with shared baths and living facilities. There are no more than five residents in each home. Residents participate in regular meetings with case management staff, and frequent house and community meetings. Residents receive support and advocacy for a host of medical, financial, social, emotional, and educational issues. In some cases, this may include assistance with job readiness, returning to work, and moves toward independent living. Each of our families lives in their own apartment. They meet with support staff as often as is mutually agreed upon in their support plan to work on parenting issues and to coordinate services with community agencies. CCMH families also meet regularly as a community to draw on the support that the community environment offers.

Shelter Plus Care
The Shelter Plus Care program combines a housing subsidy with intensive, in-home case management services. The program serves homeless individuals with physical and psychiatric disabilities. Clients participating in this program also access all of the services available through Hudson CASA. The main goal of the Shelter Plus Care program is to assist individuals who might otherwise not be able to live independently, maintain their own housing.

The Hudson CASA Recovery Support Project (HCRSP)
The HCRSP which began in August 2008 expanded existing services for our homeless, substance using clients, offering more accessible, flexible services in a non-traditional drop in setting, with the goal of promoting recovery and reducing risk of HIV infection or re-infection. The HCRSP offers harm reduction counseling, group support, case management, peer support, HIV testing, health screenings and access to mental health and substance treatment services, available in one convenient location. The program operates out of the Church of the Incarnation. This program addresses the absence in Hudson County of easily accessed, low demand programs which offer a harm reduction approach.

Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST)
JCECDC has been awarded funding from the NJ Division of Mental Health Services for Hudson County’s first Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST) Program. The RIST Program targets consumers who are living with serious mental illness and are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.   Through RIST, JCECDC provides consumers with comprehensive supportive services to promote housing stability, community inclusion, wellness and recovery and engagement with mental health and primary care providers, with an overall goal of advancing healthy self-sufficiency.
