Jersey City Episcopal Community Development Corporation's Division of Supportive Housing and Social Services provides the Hudson County community with a wide array of services and programs to meet the community's complex and ever changing needs. Our guiding principles are to promote independence and self-sufficiency, and improve quality of life for all of our consumers. Our work is to foster housing, social service, and economic development to address issues of poverty. Our services are consumer directed and are founded on consumer responsibility and participation in enhancing the quality of their own lives.
Our programs include Corpus Christi Ministries
Housing (CCMH), Hudson Creating Alliances to Shelter All (Hudson
CASA), Special Initiative-Hudson CASA for Families, Shelter
Plus Care, and the Adherence Support Project for Healthier
Living.
Highlights
- The Division of Supportive Housing and
Social Services was recently awarded funding from the New
Jersey AIDS Partnership to operate the Adherence Support
Project for Healthier Living. We are very excited about
this opportunity to develop new services for HIV positive
individuals.
- Case Manager John Arceo has been appointed chair person
of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Planning Council Housing Committee.
This position provides for enhanced networking and an improved
system of dialogue with other providers of housing services
for the HIV/AIDS Community.
- The Hudson CASA Program has been awarded match funding from
2 different sources this year. We are grateful for grant
awards from the Lydia Collins deForest Charitable Trust
and the State of New Jersey Office of Faith Based Initiatives,
for providing necessary match dollars for the program operations
of Hudson CASA.
- JCECDC began implementation of the Homeless Management Information
System (HMIS) in early 2006. This data system allows for
comprehensive tracking of services and provides for improved
record keeping and service provision.
- JCECDC is a partner in the "Collaborative Solutions" project.
Together with United Way, PERC and House of Faith, this
project, newly funded through the Jersey City/Hudson County
Continuum of Care, will provide housing and comprehensive
social services for 20 chronically homeless individuals
